The Olympic Stadium is the sports facility dearest to the hearts of Barcelona’s citizens, the indisputable star of the Olympic apotheosis. An iconic complex playing host to big events!
Visit the Estadi Olímpic:
You can admire the Olympic cauldron designed by Ramón Bigas even before you enter the Olympic Stadium’s visiting area. Enter through the Old Marathon Gate, which is dominated by the two equestrian sculptures, entitled “Genets” [Horse riders], making the Olympic salute. These sculptures were created by Pau Gargallo (1881-1934).
Take a journey through the history of the Olympic Stadium as you stroll along the corridor that leads right up to the Olympic Ring Esplanade. Want to find out more before your visit?
Sit down for a while at the Olympic Sports Café and enjoy the views of the natural-grass field, athletics track and stands, as you have a coffee, a soft drink or even a nice sandwich!
