Yesterday, September 13, Turisme de Barcelona and the Barcelona Convention Bureau celebrated their 30th and 40th anniversary respectively with an event at the Esplanada de l'Anella Olímpica.
More than 750 guests were part of this celebration where there were political representatives, companies in the tourism sector and organizers of congresses and events.
The event was chaired by the Minister of Business and Economy, Roger Torrent; the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni; the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mònica Roca; the president of Turisme de Barcelona, Eduard Torres, the director of the Barcelona Convention Bureau, Christoph Tessmar and the vice president of the Consortium, Jordi Clos. Prominent personalities from different sectors of MICE (congresses and conventions) joined the stage, such as John Hoffman (MWC) and Mike Blackman (ISE); the architect Benedetta Tagliabue; Mercè Sumarroca (Caves Sumarroca); Chef Carme Ruscalleda; Judith Mascó (Ared Foundation) or Francina Alsina (Mesa del Tercer Sector), who highlighted culture, architecture, gastronomy or fashion, as claims for quality tourism and the image of the City.
This event was a good showcase that demonstrates, once again, the beauty and benefits of the Esplanada de l'Anella Olímpica, allowing the City's and international economic agents to value it as a venue for future events.
